A time (film!) capsule into cinema through the ages – in an age where we live increasingly in the immediate, Film Capsule is an invitation to look back on timeless classics and forgotten gems, and indulge in a little nostalgia for films we still treasure.
The premise is simple – one year, one edition. And – because it’s more fun – in no particular order!
In this first issue, twenty collaborators – writers, artists, film lovers – reflect on films from the year 2003. Read about your favourites, or discover something new – and let’s celebrate film together, one year at a time!

When will my magazine be shipped?
Your magazine will be shipped with Royal Mail in 3-5 days – look out for a tracking email from them!
How many copies are there?
There are 200 copies available in a 250 copy run (50 are reserved for contributors and press). All copies are hand-numbered and part of a limited edition.
How do I choose between Delivery and Collection?
Please select Collection only if you see someone involved with Film Capsule regularly in person, and have arranged with them to pass it onto you. Collection purchases will not be shipped. Any questions, feel free to reach out to whataboutbirdy directly!
Why is there a difference in price between Delivery and Collection?
Film Capsule costs £6 – the Delivery option, which costs £9, includes shipping.
I haven’t received my order/I think my order is lost. Who do I contact?

The what about birdy team will be in touch for your personal details, and a free copy will be shipped to you. You do not need to reserve or purchase a copy.

I don’t live in the UK. Can I still order a copy?
At this stage, the magazine is only available for delivery/collection in the UK. But we are working on changing this – stay tuned!
I would like to purchase three or more copies. What should I do?
We would like as many people as possible to have a copy of Film Capsule, since they are all hand-numbered and individual. But if you would like to order multiple copies for friends and family, please reach out to us directly, and we can offer an individual delivery price.
