What is Film Capsule?
A time (film!) capsule into cinema through the ages - in an age where we live increasingly in the immediate, Film Capsule is an invitation to look back on timeless classics and forgotten gems, and indulge in a little nostalgia for films we still treasure.
The premise is simple - one year, one edition. And - because it's more fun - in no particular order!
Film discussion is for everyone - that's why there are no limits on who can write for Film Capsule, where feeling, experience and love for a film is more important than quoting literary criticism (although we welcome that too!). Everyone has a story to tell, and something to say about why a film is important, for them and for everyone else - before anything, film should be about creating community.
In this first issue, twenty collaborators - writers, artists, film lovers - reflect on films from the year 2003, from Finding Nemo to Goodbye, Dragon Inn - perhaps this film helped them get through a rough patch, or cemented itself as a childhood favourite.
