Contributor Agreement
By submitting your work to Film Capsule, you confirm that:
- You retain copyright — you remain the copyright owner of anything you submit.
- You give what about birdy (the community that runs Film Capsule) permission to use your work — you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to publish, reproduce, distribute and display your work in the magazine and in related promotional materials, including in print, digital and online formats.
- This permission is ongoing — the licence continues unless you withdraw it in writing with reasonable notice.
- Your work is original — you confirm that you created the work yourself and that it does not infringe anyone else’s copyright, trademark or other intellectual property rights.
- No AI-generated content — you confirm that your submitted work has been created entirely by a human and does not contain content generated by AI tools or platforms.
- You have the right to submit the work — you confirm that you have full permission and rights to give what about birdy the licence described above.
- We may make minor editorial changes — you give us permission to edit your work for clarity, style or formatting, while respecting the substance and integrity of your work.
- We decide how the work is presented — your work may appear alongside other written, visual or multimedia content, at what about birdy’s discretion.
- You are responsible for your work — if a third party makes a legal claim because your work breaches these terms (for example, a copyright infringement claim or a claim relating to AI-generated content), you agree to take responsibility for that breach and cover the what about birdy’s resulting losses or costs.
- This does not create employment — submitting work does not create an employment relationship, and no payment is owed unless separately agreed in writing.
- UK law applies — this agreement is governed by the laws of the United Kingdom.
